Corvette manual disc brakes

 · Jaguar had been offering four wheel disc brakes on their more expensive E-Type and it wouldn't do for the Corvette Stingray to be playing second in any area. The unloved drum brakes were still available as a deletion credit (RPO J61, -$) and Corvette Stingrays were so equipped.  · As a general rule, 4-wheel discs need a power assist to provide comfortable braking, because of the higher pressures disc brakes require. I don't know of (or remember) any regular U.S. production vehicles, except some '60s Corvettes, that had manual 4-wheel discs, and I would not be surprised if the Vettes pedal ratio was or higher.  · The Corvette style master cylinder is popular for two reasons. It has two large reservoirs which you need for disc/disc systems. It is available in a 1” bore for manual brake systems. A typical power brake master has a /8” bore which will not create the pressure needed for manual applications.

If you have a Corvette master cylinder with a 1" bore then all you will need is this proportioning valve and bracket set for manual brakes. - Camaro Proportioning Valve and Bracket Set, Front Disc Brakes and Rear Drum I am sure if you look around you can find it for less. Universal GM Corvette style cast iron master cylinder with a 1" bore size. Suitable for Disc/Drum applications. Includes a piston adapter that will allow for power or manual brake systems. I did some research, and since the original manual disc brake 67 master the C3 Corvette manual disc brake booster, like this one. 1 may C1 C2 Corvettes - Manual four wheel disc brakes - Has anyone got four wheel disc brakes with a manual master cylinder.
